The sign says it all. The Holland Harbor Lighthouse's architecture, built in 1907, reflects the Dutch influence of the area in the early 20th Century. It replaced the orginal Holland Harbor lighthouse originally built in 1877. The lighthouse was decommissioned by the Coast Guard in 1970 at which point the Holland Harbor Historical Commission was formed to preserve and maintain this historic landmark that protected so many Great Lakes sailors.
